What is periodontal disease ?
Periodontal disease is a complex disease of multifactorial nature involving subgingival germs, host response and environmental factors.
Most of the time, disease is related to microbial deposit (dental plaque) but can be affected by other factors (genetic disorders, viral infections, inflammatory conditions, neoplasms, metabolic diseases).
